Tourism – Families Wanted

Posted on 17 February 2010 by admin

Family tourism will be one of the cornerstones of promotion this year for Catalunya.
They will present DTF (Destino de Turismo Familiar) or family tourism destination, with 9 certified destinations, and 4 in process of certification.
Cataluña will also promote the first Family Mountain Resort in Spain, in Vall de Boi, as well as the ski resorts of La Molina and Vall de Núria with it’s children’s promotion.

Many towns on the Costa Brava, including the largest resort of Lloret de Mar, are desperately trying to shake of the ‘lager lout’ image that has been the strong impression many people have had of the town since the early 1980s.

Towns are cutting down on on approval of licenses to sell alcohol, and are vigorously promoting family friendly activities.

Lloret de Mar – Children’s Activities

Catalunya has recently banned bars from featuring ‘Happy Hours’ and any other cheap drinks promotions, such as ‘Two for the Price of One’, and ‘All you can drink.’
Any business not complying will face a fine between 3000 and 10,000 euros.

Bar owners have been ordered to remove all promotional signs from outside their establishments, and advertising signs such as those pictured above are no longer visible on the streets of Lloret de Mar.
