Change of Address

Believe it or not, if you file a change of address with the post office, it will not notify other people and companies that you have moved.

Itís hard enough having to physically pack and move than having the additional stress of worrying whether or not you will receive your mail.

The U.S. Post Office offers a change of address card that will inform the mail carrier of your new address so that the mail can be rerouted.

A change of address filed with the post office will not notify companies and other people that you have moved. That is your responsibility.

Magazines have labels, which should be returned with the correct address. Installment loans and credit card bills should have places on the return slip for your convenience to notify them of your changed address.

Some people may not send you things on a regular basis, in which case it is your responsibility to make them aware of your new location.
